History

History Intent

Our intent is to provide well sequenced history projects that develop children’s historical knowledge, skills and understanding. We will endeavour to promote key aspects and concepts, such as chronology, cause and effect, similarity and difference, significance and hierarchy, and also develop historical skills based on evidence and historical enquiry. 

We will provide opportunities to stimulate pupils' curiosity to know more about Britain's past and that of the wider world. We will help pupils to understand the chronological framework of the past and appreciate their own identity and challenges of their time. 

We intend to not only provide children with knowledge but also develop historical skills, allowing them to know more and do more, and encourage children to work as historians.
