Wellbeing at home and school

Welcome to our wellbeing page

Promoting children and young people's wellbeing is a key part of keeping them safe, helping them develop and ensuring they have positive outcomes in adulthood (Public Health England, 2021).

During the pandemic, some children may have enjoyed being off school, while others may have struggled with being isolated from their family and friends. Others may be coming to terms with family issues, loss or changes to their living situation. It's still unclear what future changes we may all face. Even though the lockdown has eased, we are still facing changes to our normal lives.

Here at Moorland we pride ourselves on our whole school wellbeing focus.

We wholeheartedly embrace the importance of putting mental health and wellbeing at the forefront of our school ethos.

We dedicate every Wednesday to staff and pupil wellbeing through our Wellbeing Wednesday curriculum.

We provide opportunities for pupils to participate in 5 key strands:

enlightenedComplete wellbeing

Activities include Zumba, yoga, gardening, forest schools, cooking, visits to the family centre and the local community, art themed activities and team building tasks.

We have a dedicated wellbeing team who are always on hand for staff, pupils or parents to offer support and advice. We understand how important it is to support families during stressful or difficult times, both in, and out of school. We provide a range of experiences, interventions and resources for pupils that promote healthy bodies and minds.

The children's charity Bernado's have lots of resources, tools and videos to support your child's journey back to school.
