RE Intent

Our aim is to offer a high quality Religious Education in line with the non-statutory guidance within the national Curriculum and the locally agreed syllabus for Milton Keynes.

We focus on learning about and from religion so that pupils can understand the world around them. Through our RE teaching, pupils develop their knowledge of world faiths and their understanding of other individuals, societies, communities and cultures. We encourage our pupils to ask questions about the world and reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences. 

Fundamentals

Discovery RE is a scheme of work for Religious Education which helps develop critical thinking and enhance children’s spiritual development. It takes children on a learning journey from their own world to a world of religion and belief, learning about aspects of that religion in order to offer answers to a big enquiry question, with an opportunity to express their own opinions and learning.
